I do consulting in just about any area of life or business.
Normally the way it works is that someone starts out by hiring me as a writer but after a while we get into the big picture of their goals and plans. Before you know it I’m helping them work out a whole marketing strategy and then soon we’re moving over into their overall business plan. I’ve found that consulting is a natural outgrowth of any attempt to help another with an organization or business; it just happens eventually.
I have a strong background as an executive and in managing groups. I also have a strong background in sales and marketing. I have years and years of experience and have studied a tremendous amount about them. I’ve had to cut my teeth on the real-world litmus test called “economic reality” and I’ve spent my entire adult life in positions of responsibility, keeping groups running and moving toward their goals.
Hanses Management
In 2009 I co-founded a consulting company, Hanses Management, to help small business owners achieve their goals by training them on the fundamentals of management and running a business in the real world. I compiled and assembled the consulting program we use and established the organizational systems of the company itself. We have clients all over the United States and regularly fly our consultants to visit their offices, doing hands on implementations in addition to remote consulting.
Personal Clients
Whether in marketing, sales, management or business systems, I also have individual clients I help with unique aspects of their professional life. I take on personal clients particularly if the project is unusual, interesting or different. Often I will refer people to my company, Hanses Management, if I feel like that is a better fit or if I feel it would benefit them more.
There really is no project that is too unique. I handle extremely diverse situations and excel at solving problems that may seem impossible. I’ve brought situations back from the grave before and can help no matter what’s happening. Honestly, this is one of my favorite things to do and I love being able to help someone sort something out that has tangled up their business or their life.
Marketing Consulting
You can spend a lot of money on marketing and get very little result if you aren’t doing it as part of an overall strategy. Printing, postage and wages can add up to tens of thousands of dollars very quickly. It’s important that all of your marketing be centered around an overall strategy focused on getting real-world results.
One of the most important things someone can do is really have a full understanding of marketing before they jump in and spend a bunch of money on it. This is where marketing consulting comes in handy; it can help you define your goals and how you’re going to achieve them. This saves time and money and enables you to make real progress. Without a defined marketing strategy it can feel like marketing doesn’t work and that you’re just throwing money down the drain.
I have a lot of experience dealing with different types of marketing, from dental offices to roofing companies. Tell me what you’re trying to accomplish and I’ll let you know how I can help.
Branding Consulting
“Branding” is a buzzword today which sounds cool and which everyone is into. However, it isn’t just something flashy to talk about on the Internet. It’s relevant and affects every business or organization. In fact, it goes hand in hand with your overall business plan or strategy.
“Branding” means creating a consistent brand or identity for a person, business, organization or other entity. This is done by ensuring that everything that business or entity does, says or promotes is consistent with the overall “brand.” It’s a bit like ensuring a business stays true to its own personality or identity.
Branding is fun. It involves graphics, language, strategy and the “culture” of your business. It helps set you apart from your competitors; the stronger your branding is, the more you’ll stand out as a distinct face in a sea of “me-too” marketing.
Well-done branding takes into account the goals and purposes of your company. It facilitates your long-range plans by ensuring all aspects of your company are in alignment and moving in the same direction. When doing a branding consultation I first have to start with who a company is: their identity. Then we look at their goals and what they’re trying to achieve–not just in the short-term, but also in the long-run. After this, we work out the personality of the company: what the owner or executives really envision as their mission and their true reason for having the company. Only when we have all of this are we ready to start talking about branding.
A report is then written which lays out all the company’s branding information. This information covers how the company should appear, what its mission is, its message, how it should present itself, who its target audiences are and more. It is around this information that marketing can now take place.
Strategy
This truly is one of my favorites. I LOVE strategy. Strategy is all about dreams and goals. It’s all about creating the future. It’s about life. When you talk about strategy consulting, you’re talking about helping a person sort out their direction. You’re talking about helping them paint their future on the canvas of life. You’re talking about defining dreams and then making those dreams come true.
I’ve had great success in the areas of helping people define their goals and then working out an exact plan to get there. This type of consulting has a lot less to do with telling another what they should be doing than asking them questions which really get them to think about it, then helping them work out for themselves how they want to get there.
If life were a movie, strategy would be the script.
Problem Solving
It’s got to be done. That’s why people hire consultants: problem solving.
Let’s face it. When you don’t know what else to do and you’ve got a massive problem staring you in the face, that’s when you’re most likely to go get a consultant. And truthfully, that’s when a consultant can be extremely valuable. When you really hit a snag and don’t what to do, when you have exhausted all your options and you need to figure a way out, call me.
I’m really good with problem solving. No matter what the situation, no matter how snarled up, I can dig in and get to the root of the situation, find the real reason and help come up with a solution that works.
